Friday? Are We Really Ready for this Weekend?

So I can pretty much say that the song "Friday" by "upcoming" artist Rebecca Black, is one of the worst songs I have ever listened to it. Not just because of the awful lyrics, but because she has an awful voice. The worst part about this song is that is catchy! While walking through the halls of LASA, I can hear people singing the chorus of the song which is "its' Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday".

Even during lunch I hear people discussing how awful the song is. As a matter of fact, tonight I started talking to my friend Madisen D. about the song and she said "I hate that song. With a passion." This is coming from a person who is very open about listening to different kinds of music. One must wonder why this song is suddenly so popular. The answer may or may not be the catchy tune or just the surprise on how one can get so famous for a terrible piece of work. This may just be an opinion, but you should check it out and tell me what you think.

  2. "friday" itself isn't a bad song, i've heard a version, sung by a youtuber, that is actually quite good. The Singer is what ruins the song. Plus the video.

  3. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The lyrics are shallow, trivial, and excessively auto-tuned. Most of the song is devoted to explaning the order of the days of the week. Thank you, Rebecca Black, for teaching me that thursday is before friday, and sunday is after saturday. Thanks.

Also, what's with a full-grown man rapping about watching school children passing him by in school buses. Does anyone else think that is a little creepy? Additionally, why are 13 year olds driving cars?

Damn you, Justin Bieber, for convincing the children of America to pull crap like this.

I apologize for my anger and profanity.

  4. ^ Agreed!

Also, she didn't write the song, some producers did, but nonetheless, it IS a horrible song.

Love the photo you posted, btw.

  5. Yes, it is extremely catchy. Everybody knows it, yet almost all of them despise it. Also, she is making an insane amount of money off it, almost $30,000 a week! If she is going to try and teach people days of the week, she has to finish, she is going to leave people wondering what day comes after Sunday, or before Thursday.
