Opinion Leads--Kendall

#1. Rhetorical Question
Where do you go when you need to look for books for a school project? When you need to use the Internet but don’t have access at home? When you just want a place where you can escape from everything loud and noisy and chaotic? The answer to all of these is, of course, the public library, an invaluable resource whose future is uncertain.

#2. Startling statement
Despite an upward trend in attendance, Texas still ranks 48th nationwide in state funding for libraries.

#3. Contrast and Compare (then and now)
For decades, public libraries have been a haven for students and businesspeople alike, providing research materials, quiet work spaces, and good books for those who needed them. Now, however, many libraries’ futures are in jeopardy due to loss of funding.

  1. Wow-those are some great leads (I say that completely un-ironically). Really, they are awesome. I would go with the first one, though the third one is pretty good too.

    Seriously, your leads are awesome.

  2. The first lead is the best. And I believe you mean un sarcastically, above person who is probably nathan.

  3. I liked the rhetorical question because it was really making me think about what place it was.

  4. I like the first and third, too. Perhaps you could combine them since they both have strong points.
